Of the 2 million pallets we handle each year, around 250,000 of them are newly-made at one of our three production centres. These pallets are manufactured using sustainable timber to limit our impact on the environment. They also undergo a heat treatment process to make them ready for international use.

Most of our pallet stock is made up of pre-owned pallets, bought and collected from companies across the UK. These are fully reconditioned to meet the same high standard as our new pallets, and given a second heat-treatment session, if needed.

Our Wirral production centres each have their own biofuel-powered kiln for the heat treatment of all our wooden pallets and packaging materials. These raise the internal temperature of the wood to a level where insects, fungi, and bacteria infestations are killed off. This brings them in line with ISPM-15 standards for global shipping.

We repair and reuse wooden pallets wherever possible, to save them from landfill, while all new wooden pallets use sustainable timber from North European forests. Any waste wood is shredded at our production centres and used as biofuel for our heat treatment kilns. This helps us achieve and maintain our 100% recycling record.
